Rapper Silento made headlines for unpleasant news. The "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" spitter is facing legal trouble as he was reportedly arrested twice in Orange County and Los Angeles last weekend. He was charged for alleged domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon in two separate incidents.
It was reported that Silento, whose real name is Richard Lamar Hawk, was arrested in Orange County, California last Friday, August 28 over a domestic dispute which prompted police to get called to the house. "He was booked and released on a charge of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant," ABC News reported. It remains to be seen who was injured in the dispute.
He didn't stop causing trouble as on the next day, Silento attempted to look for his girlfriend while walking into a stranger's house with a hatchet in hand, much to the home owners and their children's dismay. According to TMZ, someone in the house screamed for help and it wasn't long before others took him down and disarmed him.
Later, his friend arrived and told him that he went to the wrong house. They fled before the authorities arrived. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the bizarre accident.
Although the rapper attempted to escape, Los Angeles police officers managed to find him a block away from the residence and they took him into custody. He was later charged by the Los Angeles County district attorney's office with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Silento's still being held on a $250k bond.
Silento found fame in 2015 after releasing his hit single "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" which topped the charts. The music video for the song has since been viewed more than 1.7 billion times on YouTube. Through the song, the 22-year-old brought fans to a hip hop dance craze dance craze at the time and inspired fans to share on social media their own videos dancing to the song.
