Lauren Sanchez made headlines when it was rumored she was dating Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos while still being married to her husband, Patrick Whitesell, co-CEO of William Morris Endeavors (WME) talent agency. Lauren and Patrick married in 2005 and have two children, Evan and Eleanor, together. Although Lauren and Jeff haven’t officially confirmed their relationship, the National Enquirer broke the news just hours after Jeff announced he was divorcing his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie, in Jan. 2019. The outlet claimed it had done a four-month long investigation into Lauren and Jeff’s relationship. It didn’t take long for Jeff to publish a blog post about the outlet and its publisher, American Media Inc., and accused them of attempting “blackmail” and “extortion” in regards to his rumored relationship with Lauren. On Apr. 5, 2019, one day after Jeff and MacKenzie’s divorce became final, Lauren filed for divorce from Patrick. Patrick’s response document mirrors Lauren’s and the parents are asking for joint custody of their two children.
